the largest fabricator of polyfoam in the North Mississippi hotbed of

The Y2K issue loomed
large at Independent Furniture Supply. The company had an ERP system
running on an HP9000 platform, but the software was not Y2K compatible,
and was heavily modified, making a conversion an ominous task.
Relian Technology consultants were instrumental in assisting Independent
Furniture Supply evaluate and implement a new ERP system which resolved
the Y2K issue and improved the competitive position of the company at the
same time.
Asked why the company
chose the MOVEX ERP system from Intentia, the answer is simple. "I
had confidence in what Brad Ford said", says Jan Littlejohn, Controller.
"He answered all my questions correctly". Brad is the president of
Relian Technology and, like all our consultants, has an extensive
manufacturing industry and ERP technology background. "I liked the
functionality that the General Ledger application provided", says Tracy
Lominick, Assistant Controller. The implementation of MOVEX has
enabled automation in areas of the business not possible before.
Plus, custom modifications made by Relian Technology has resulted in the
ability of Independent Furniture Supply to provide custom bills of lading
and labels to meet individual customer demands, increasing customer
service.
Jan says of the
conversion, "This was the easiest change I ever did. Relian
Technology thought the process through, and provided a piece-at-a-time
conversion process. There were no catastrophes, and the system we
have now is much more flexible". Summing up, Jan says, "There is
nothing I have wanted to do with the system that Relian Technology has not
provided us."
